I’m collecting data from different users about site performance. particularly when adding posts. It would help greatly is you could add your typical speed when using the site whwn logged in. For example:
- Open Front page: 3 seconds
- Open newsline page (http://newslines.org/tom-hanks/): 8 seconds
- Select a category: instant
- Add a category: 5 seconds
- Submit a post (with no validation issues): 18 seconds.
- Anything else you notice
- Add your computer type (PC/Mac, OS, Browser)
I want to cut these times in half. Even though we are on one of the fastest hosting companies (WP Engine), I have already decided to move to an even faster one that uses some newer technology. I will continue to investigate other solutions over the coming weeks.

Thank you for the information Hannah. That is about the same kind of performance I get. I have already started the process to move the site to a faster hosting company. I hope that will be completed next week and we can see some major improvements. In the meantime, please continue to post speed reports.

I am not sure about specifics, but on my 2010 MacBook, it takes a while to make a post as well as load other pages (Safari) I would type text, and it would take a couple moments for it to catch up on-screen.
